It’s well known for its stunning beaches, wide range of water sports, and vibrant nightlife. This coastal town is also home to a number of historical landmarks, such as the Torre Vella, an ancient watchtower that dates back to the 16th century. One thing to keep in mind when exploring the beaches in Salou is that they can be a bit confusing to navigate. This is because the beaches often have multiple names, depending on whether they’re referred to in Spanish, Catalan, or English. For example, Playa de Levante” is sometimes called “Platja del Llevant” in Catalan, and “Llarga Beach” is also known as “Platja Llarga”.

1. Llevant Beach

Known as: Playa de Llevante, Platja de Llevant, Salou beach
Levant Beach is one of the most famous and popular beaches in Salou, as we can call it Salou’s “main beach”. With its wide expanse of golden sand, clear blue waters, and plenty of amenities, Llevant Beach is a great choice for a day of fun in the sun. The beach offers a range of activities for visitors to enjoy, including kayaking, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. There are also plenty of cafes and bars nearby, as well as showers and changing rooms for convenience. We are located only 10 minuts by foot from Llevant beach and we can ensure you the greatest atmosphere.
Tt’s worth noting that this beach is sometimes confused with another Llevant Beach located in Barcelona. While the two beaches share a name, they are not the same place, and are in fact located more than 100 kilometers apart from each other. The confusion often arises due to the names, as well as the fact that both beaches are renowned for their beauty and popularity among visitors. Nonetheless, Llevant Beach in Salou remains a beloved destination for sun-seekers and beach-goers.

In addition, this beautiful beach is also known for its charming promenade. The “Passeig Jaume” is stunning long, palm-tree-lined walkway that runs along the seafront, connecting Llevant Beach to the other beaches in the area, such as Ponent Beach and Capellans Beach. The promenade is a popular spot for strolling, jogging, cycling, and rollerblading, and is lined with a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Capellans beach is a small, sandy and cozy cove located just north of Playa de Levante. It is located in the urban area, with gently waves and safe. It has an area reserved for water sports and an area of pine trees. It’s a quieter spot than some of the other beaches in Salou and is popular with families. This small but beautiful beach is known for its crystal-clear waters and golden sand, and is surrounded by cliffs and pine trees, giving it a secluded and intimate feel. Capellans Beach is a great spot for swimming and sunbathing, and is also popular with scuba divers and snorkelers due to the underwater caves and rock formations that can be explored in the area. 3. Ponent Beach

Known as: Playa de Ponent, Platja de ponent
Ponent Beach is located just to the east of the Salou Lighthouse, near the end of Salou’s promenade. Stretching 1,115 meters, it runs alongside Passeig Miramar. The beach is part of a trio of urban beaches, which includes Llevant and Capellans. Collectively, they boast 2.5 kilometers of fine, golden sand and clear, shallow waters.This beautiful, wide beach features fine golden sand, calm waters, and a shallow gradient, making it a popular destination for families with young children. Ponent Beach is known for its peaceful and laid-back atmosphere, and is a great spot for sunbathing, swimming, and strolling along the promenade. The beach is backed by a row of restaurants and bars where visitors can enjoy a refreshing drink or a tasty meal while taking in the views of the Mediterranean Sea. Weelchair-friendly beach
This beach is also known for being handicap-friendly, with a ramp that provides access to the water and other amenities like toilets and showers adapted for people with reduced mobility. Additionally, there is a shaded area on the beach that is designed for wheelchair users. For those who want to enjoy a beach day but require wheelchair access, Ponent Beach is an excellent option. Next to the port you’ll finde all the necessary amenities include parking, a wooden walkway, showers, a sink, lifeguard service, and amphibious chairs!

4. Llenguadets Cove

Known as: Cala dels Llenguadets, Cala de Lenguadets or Platja dels Llenguadets

The cove is nestled between two rocky cliffs and is only accessible via stairs, which may not be suitable for everyone. Once you reach the cove, you will be rewarded with a picturesque and secluded beach that is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. The cove is approximately 100 meters long and 15 meters wide, and its fine golden sand and clear waters make it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. However, it should be noted that there are no lifeguards on duty, and visitors should exercise caution when swimming in the cove. Despite its size, Platja dels Llenguadets is a hidden gem that is well worth a visit if you’re looking for a quieter and more secluded beach experience.

5. Llarga Beach

It is one of the best places on the Costa Daurada for snorkeling! Surrounded by some rocky promontories. The beach is also known for its peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and sunbathing. The area is well-maintained, and the beach is cleaned daily. Visitors can also enjoy the nearby restaurants and bars, where they can sample local seafood and refreshing drinks while taking in the beautiful scenery. Cala de la Font is definitely worth a visit for those seeking a quieter, more secluded beach experience.

8. Vinya's cove

Known as: Cove Vinya, Cala de La Vinya, Cala Vinya or Cala font
This is a very small cove but it has all kinds of rental services! It is located just next to the Cove Fonts and it is very kids friendly. Although there are no facilities on the beach, there are some bars and restaurants nearby where you can buy a drink. The beach can be accessed by a flight of stairs from the parking area, which is located at the top of the cliffs. Overall, Cala de la Vinya is a beautiful and peaceful spot where visitors can relax and unwind in a natural setting.

9. Cranc's Cove

Known as: Platja de la Cala Crancs, Cranc’s Cove beach
Little beach located in Cabo de Salou. Although is far away from Salou’s center, Crancs cove is worth visiting. The beach is very beautiful and cozy, surrounded by a lot of vegetation, a relatively quiet and peaceful place, making it an ideal spot for those who prefer a more secluded beach experience. There are no shops on the beach, but some small bars and restaurants nearby, where you can enjoy refreshing drinks and meals. The cove is Isolated from tourist establishments and all the green surroundings give the cove a little tropical vibe! Its the perfect option if you’re looking for something quiet, exotic, and very cozy.
